the strings are pale gold and white
a lot of it is just different shades of bright purple and gold

it also has some plinks of green and pink against the gold/white
near the middle it starts going down into red from the purple, and some dark blue waves under it
on the whole it reminds me of being lost in a series of brick alleys that are only lit by streetlights but being okay with it because you know you’ll get out eventually??

as i’ve said before, turn on the bright lights IS new york city circa 2001 in musical form, and so just… if i do more of these feels i promise you they will all involve the city in some way
nyc feels like standing in a hotel room on a very high floor and looking out the window at all the city lights
and it’s raining and the sidewalks are wet but all the people are out anyway because it’s a city and there’ll always be people
there are a lot of lights, if i had to color it it’d be black and dark dark blue and the color of streetlights on pavement

i tried to draw it last night but it turned into something else
there is a LOT of blue in it and some orange too
it’s like a big white canvas with things being slashed into it and that forming the colors
it’s also very orderly and patterned despite the random slashes and sometimes the blue and orange come up as colors in the air and they look like ribbons
as it goes on the whiteness subsides and it turns into a lot more gray and flickering lights and dark rooms and the slashes get deeper but at a lot of points it just totally turns around and i just

then the bridge goes back to white and very very light pink and fabric and tulle
